Taking Time Out

rainbowmountainThe importance of taking time out! This is something we forget about and is something that each of us should remember each and every day. Time-outs are good for our mental, physical and spiritual health. It allows us time to connect and replenish. To resolve and learn, to seek our truths and heal from false truths. It allows us the opportunity to be with our higher spiritual selves and leave the heavy earth bound worries behind. It is critical in so many ways and many of us just do not truly understand the value of taking time out for ourselves.

Everyone needs to take time out, the perfect solution would be to take time out to connect every day for about 20 minutes. In this precious twenty minutes you could meditate and sit quietly to connect.  You could just listen to some soft easy music or singing bowls to easy your mind of day-to-day demands and just relax into the soothing sounds. You could just sit quietly in a room with nothing to distract you and just take in the information that comes to you. Even journaling for 20 minutes a day is a way of taking time out. P1000419

The most healing time out is when you can take a weekend to just be with yourself and enjoy the peace of being with no one but yourself. You are an amazing spiritual being and you deserve to enjoy loving peaceful moments with just you. Leave the phones, tablets and computers behind and just escape into your own little world of peace and tranquility. Get to know you and get to know your amazing soul. Learn to listen to your spirit and connect. Learn to be without distractions and enjoy the natural sounds of nature. Take time out to appreciate the beauty of the world around you and to touch a leaf and discover the amazing gift a single flower can give. Feel the sun on your face and the wind blowing across your body. Take time out not only to discover you but to also discover your world and the magnificent beauty it holds.

P1000451So to assist, I ask everyone to do a little exercise for the next month.

For the next month, schedule 20 minutes into your day for a time out, but mix it up a bit. One day use the 20 minutes to take a walk in nature and observe and another day use it for meditating and maybe another day to write in your journal for 20 minutes or just listen to some soothing music. Regardless of what it is, have the intent for it to be your 20 minute time-out for the day to heal and discover. We are part of an amazing spiritual world and we all deserve to take the time and appreciate all of it. When we can break it down to small pleasures and appreciate simple things like the colors of the trees and the loving heat of the Sun, we are opening to our true selves and connecting. You deserve to take time out just for you!
