Thoughts are the Minds Nutrition

  In today’s world, we have come too close to accepting negativity into our homes, our behaviors, and our minds. Over time, constantly being around negative surroundings both externally as well as internally dramatically impacts our lives, in an unassumingly atrocious way. On a daily basis, we do not tend to intently focus on all of the negativity. It is on those days where we have accumulated this into our minds so much so that begins the downward spiral that causes explosive volcanic anger. To limit this common occurrence, let us take a step back to really think about how to feed our minds on a daily basis.

1) Every morning, say thank you and show gratitude for your life. This step begins the path of purity and calmness. You have the power to take control over your thoughts if you put it into practice consistently. By putting your thoughts first, you can mediate what is important and what is secondary and therefore not necessary to even consider thinking about.

2) Surround yourself with positivity, as much as you possibly can. We are who we surround ourselves with. This fact can make us or break us. For us, positivity can mean different things. For one, it could mean silence like looking at nature and quietly enjoying its’ presence. Other people see positivity as laughing with friends and having philosophical discussions about life. Whatever it is that prompts your creativity and happiness, do it1 Do it with pride and connect to your higher self this way.levi2

3) Take care of your body, from the inside to the outside! Remember, you are what you eat. If you have a diet rich in healthy nutrition with healthy fats and vegetables, your brain and mind will thank you. Eat to nourish your body. This way, you are taking care of both your body and brain all in one swoop. Make sure to also get adequate amounts of sleep in on a daily basis. 8-9 hours would be ideal.

Once you realize that your body is able to communicate to you, you will be able to tell what YOU need in order to function on a higher, more understanding level. Keep your aura at a consistent and calm state, as best as you can. Refrain from getting into too much drama and open your heart to people that lift your spirits. Follow your gut and always take care of your health, including your mind! Thoughts are provoking, so make sure yours are worth it!
