MOVIES THAT MAKE MY HEART AND SOUL SING!
So many times in our lives we as a collective consciousness wake up just enough to hear the Universes messages loud and clear.
Following on from my Top Ten Fav Spiritual Movies post, I present you with the
TOP FIVE MOVIES THAT MAKE MY HEART AND SOUL SING!
*kermit arm flail*
NUMBER 1 – PAY IT FOWARD (2011)
This movie CHANGED THE WORLD!! Well, my world changed instantly. It is my ‘rememberance’ movie, the movie I watch whenever I feel ‘stuck’ in my ‘it’s all about ME doggnammit!!’ energy.
The message is clear ‘what can you do for another person to make their life more fulfilling, with out wanting anything back in return?’ I practice THIS every day. Not once, not twice, not when my mood suits me, but EVERY MINUTE of the day. It uplifts my spirit, gives me such peace, fills my heart and soul with love and is what I was born to do.
If you could change someone’s life… would you?
NUMBER 2 – FIELD OF DREAMS (1989)
“Sometimes when you believe in the impossible, the incredible comes true”.
How right they are! How many times in your life since this movie’s emergence have you had the words ‘If you build it; they will come’? resonate within you? I am so totally connected to this movie through my Brother Jay. It was one of his favourite all time films. It was the movie that started his own Spiritual journey. It was the movie that allowed us to communicate as two souls on a journey together rather then the brother/sister grrrr energy we had had with each other when growing up. THIS movie changed my life in more ways I would have ever know.
NUMBER 3 – PATCH ADAMS (1998)
One of the most beautiful TRUE STORY films I have ever seen. Patch Adams is an AMAZEBALL human being, pushing boundaries, healing through love, laughter and acceptance. This film boasts my most favourite of favourite poems.
Sonnett XV11: I do not love you – Pablo Neruda
I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz,or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,in secret, between the shadow and the soul.
I love you as the plant that never bloomsbut carries in itself the light of hidden flowers;thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance, risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.
I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;so I love you because I know no other way
than this: where I does not exist, nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.
Robin Williams was THE perfect actor for the main role. Humour laced with heartache. And the undeniable truth – Laughter truly IS the best medicine.
NUMBER 4 – CONTACT (1997) -scene excerpt-
Carl Sagan was an incredible incredible man. Why am I telling you this? Because Contact was based on Carl’s novel of the same name. I love the symbolism that is entwined in this entire film. From the placement of the popcorn, the initial ‘contact’ scene and the end scene with Elle looking over the Grand Canyon. The scene I have embedded in this post rings true on so many of levels it always gets my ‘spidey senses’ tingling all over.
NUMBER 5 – GHOST (1990)
Incredibly powerful, symbolic and down right sexy Ghost finishes off my Top 5 list.
Patrick Swayze (RIP) is beautifully flawed as a man living in fear of ever having a good life, and regretting ever living and loving wholeheartedly. Whoopi Goldberg is superb as the reluctant psychic and Demi Moore’s ‘penny’ scene is heartbreaking. Yes, the ‘clay’ scene stole alot of the messages of what this movie is about… If you love someone.. tell them. And live each day filled with love, laughter, joy & wonderment.
